www.motorcyclesa.co.za does not trade in motorcycles, quads, parts or accessories ourselves and and will not be able to advise the public on technical matters. We only provide the website where you are welcome to advertise for free.
FAQ's:
Q: What may I advertise for free?
A: Any motorcycle or quad or parts. Even small second hand parts should be advertised, because somewhere out there someone is looking for just that part to finish his restoration project.
Anything not related to motorcycles or quads will be deleted. This include all spam money making nonsense placed by people in far away countries with high unemployment rates.
Please report all spam or non related adverts to ensure a quality website.
Q: How do I edit my ad?
A: Log in on the left menu. Your ads will be visible. Select, edit and save.
Q: I lost my password.
A: On the left menu, click on "Forgot your password?". Enter your username and your password will be sent to your email address.
Q: An advertisement does not show the seller's contact details.
A: Click on "Report this ad" and we will delete it. We cannot look up the seller's contact details if they did not select it to appear on the advertisement.
Q: I cannot find a specific motorcycle or quad.
A: Place an ad under Motorcycles: Wanted or Quads: Wanted.
Q: I cannot find a specific part.
A: Consult different dealers, spare shops, breakers and ask around. If you cannot purchase it anywhere consider www.ebay.com . You often find scarce parts for older motorcycles. Consider www.ebay.co.uk for the UK which have many british, italian and two stroke motorcycle parts.
Q: I need the value of my motorcycle or quad for insurance purposes.
A: Consult a dealership which sell your type of motorcycle or quad. Ask them to look up the value in the dealer guide. Also look at other classified ads and magazine ads.
Q: Which motorcycle should I purchase?
A: Cruiser, Superbike, Motard, Scrambler?
Depending on your age and which category of motorcycle you may ride, do a search for your price range and see what motorcycles are popular. Phone some dealers and ask whether they stock spare parts for a particular model and the approximate cost of servicing and maintaining that model.
Q: Do I need training?
A: Yes. New to motorcycling? Do some training, its worth it. Even small capacity motorcycles are fast these days. Attend a track day and use the opportunity to get good advice and do some high speed riding in a safe environment with lots of run off areas on the corners. The only run off area on a street corner may be a concrete lamp post and pavement curb which will do lots of damage.
Ride safely, wear a helmet, gloves and shoes or boots. Be visible. Make sure that motorists can see you. Be on the lookout for BMW's, Merc's, expensive 4x4 and mostly all other vehicles with flicker lights that does not work.
